Whilst the communication method and style might have caused a row over at Google, the discussion about why women don't appear to be well-represented in leadership or technical roles is an important one that shouldn't be brushed under the carpet.

Sweeping generalisations about biology or personal preferences are not helpful, but looking at the broader picture of gender stereotyping, the education system and working patterns (work/life balance) is crucial if we are to see more women fulfil their potential.

At Morning Data we have some very talented women in a variety of leadership and technical roles, but more can always be done to encourage diversity in the workplace to ensure that all are given an equal chance.
